Bread Care

If  your bread should make it home from the store, here are a few options…

1. Find a friend and a hunk of cheese pronto, to share that bottle of wine and loaf of INDOMITUS Artisan bread that you just picked up from Total Wine!

2. If you bought the bread to have at a special dinner in the the next day or two then leave the loaf in the paper bag in which it came, and place the paper bag into a plastic bag to protect your loaf from the its arch-enemy, air.  When it’s time to serve you may freshen up the crust by throwing your beloved loaf into the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350.  And your house will smell amazing…

3.  If you purchased more than one loaf of INDOMITUS bread (way to go, you smart shopper/serious bread lover!) and you wish to stash some away so as to never run out, then you may freeze the loaf by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer bag, expelling as much air as possible. To wake it simply take it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature for a few hours.  When it’s time to serve it you may freshen up the crust by throwing your loaf into the oven for 5-7 minutes at 350.

And do not forget, once you cut into your beloved loaf the best way to preserve the interior crumb from drying out is to always leave the loaf face down (crumb side down) on the cutting board. Slip a plastic bag over the top if you don’t eat it that day.
